What are the medical Marijuana’s effects the next day?

Question by Taylor: What are the medical Marijuana’s effects the next day?
I usually feel tired the next day but I have only smoked a couple of times. Does it make a difference whether the weed is bad ( schwag) and whether it is higher quality ( dank). Or is the only difference the strain and type of weed like blueberry, grape etc. Are there types where you can get blasted then not feel anything the next day? which kind if so

Answer by Philip Morrison

Sacramento Medical Marijuana Strains and Effects

Just to give you an idea, this Medical cannabis has three different strains. These are the following; Indica, Sativa and Ruderalis. To get to know them more, you may check these strains characteristics below;

Cannabis Indica

Plant Characteristics – According to medical researchers, Indica medical cannabis strains are short, bushy plants with wide leaves. Indica plants typically grow faster and have a higher yield than the sativa variety. Medicine produced from cannabis indica plants have higher CBD and lower THC counts therefore a pure indica strain will produce a heavier, sleepy type of high. The flowering stage lasts between 6 to 8 weeks.

Plant Origins – It can be found in Afghanistan, Morocco, Tibet and in central part of Asia.

Cannabis Sativa

Plant Characteristics – The sativa strain of marijuana is the complete opposite of the indica strain. Sativa medical marijuana plants are tall, thin plants, with narrow leaves, and generally are a lighter shade of green then their counterpart, the indica strain. Sativa strains take longer to grow, mature, and require more light. Medicine produced from cannabis sativa plants have lower CBD and higher THC counts which produces a more clear headed, energetic type of high. The flowering stage lasts between 10 to 16 weeks.

Plant Origins – Colombia, Mexico, Thailand and Southeast Asia.

Cannabis Ruderalis

Plant Characteristics – Ruderalis is the lesser known strain of marijuana. Ruderalis is described as a wild or feral sub-species of cannabis. This type of marijuana strain flowers regardless of photogenic periods, but instead flowers based on the age of the plant. Ruderalis strains are typically not known for their medincinal values, but when this strain is interbreed with other strains, the outcome can be a pleasant smoke.

Plant Origins – Russia, Poland, and Czech Republic.

Apart from the above strains I have mentioned, there are also Cannabis Hybrids you can found in the market. Typically, it is a cross breed between Indica and Sativa cannabis strains. Check out it’s other characteristics below;

Plant Characteristics – Cannabis hybrids are medical marijuana strains that have been cross bred. You can cross an indica and a sativa and get an indica/sativa mix. Breeders try to select the best attributes of each strain and create a new strain that is the best of both worlds.

Plant Origins – It can be found anywhere in the world.

The use of Medical Marijuana is legal in Sacramento but one must follow the guidelines set by the Federal government to avoid being penalized if you caught possessing marijuana illegally.

Anti-Pot commercial: New campaign shows teenagers cannabis side effects

IMHO more like a promotion for weed than a deterrent! A new hard-hitting TV, radio and online FRANK advertising campaign that shows how cannabis can mess with your mind, was unveiled today by the Department of Health. The campaign shows that cannabis can quickly flip from being a talkative and relaxed experience to turning nasty and users becoming paranoid, having panic attacks and being sick. The false perception still exists amongst some young people that cannabis is a safe drug despite the fact that it can produce both immediate and longer-term harms to mental and physical health. Public Health Minister Dawn Primarolo said: “Cannabis is a destructive drug. What can start as a few giggles and being part of the crowd can have serious and long-term health problems. “Young people need to know cannabis isn’t a soft drug. They need to be aware of the risks they’re taking and know there is support for them to get the full facts through FRANK.” Skunk Stronger cannabis – ‘skunk’ – now dominates the cannabis market, making up 80 per cent of the cannabis available on our streets compared to 30 per cent in 2002. In the short term, cannabis use can lead to panic attacks and paranoia. In some, its regular use may lead to later development of psychotic disorder such as schizophrenia. For people with schizophrenia it can worsen the symptoms and lead to relapse. Cannabis use can also damage people’s lungs and affect their reproductive system. There is concern that the recent shift to

Afghan Hashish Thin Layer Chromatography
marijuana effects photo
Image by Jack Spades
The above photo series shows the results of a thin layer chromatography test completed on a sample of Afghan hashish.

Unlike the presumptive Duquenois test, this thin layer chromatography test is specific to hashish/marijuana and definitive proof that the sample tested is one of these illicit substances.

1. A small sample about the size of the tip of a knife is removed so it can be subjected to the chromatography test. Since this is a non-destructive process, this sample can be recovered at the end of the testing.

2. An extract reagent is added to the suspected hashish in a quantity just enough to cover it in liquid. This will leach off a liquid sample that can then be applied to the thin layer chromatography (TLC) sheet.

3. The TLC sheet is blotted with the extracted sample ensuring that only liquid is deposited onto the sheet. It is then placed into a developing jar with mobile reagent to a level just above the dot. Over the course of approximately five minutes, the mobile reagent will carry the suspected hashish sample along the TLC sheet if it is chemically Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

4. After the mobile reagent has reached the top of the TLC sheet, it is removed from the developing jar and quickly exposed to the color developing jar. This process is a simple in and out and will create a visible coloring of any reaction present on the chromatography sheet.

The main photo shows the results of this test on a sample of strong hashish. This is indicated by the relatively large spot and intense coloring.

Other samples of hashish and marijuana will produce the following effects:

Strong reactions – Big spots and intense colors
Moderate reactions – Moderately sized spots and distinctive colors
Weak reactions – Faint spots and faint colors
No reaction – No discernible colors from red to blue are present on the TLC sheet and the sample that was tested is not hashish or marijuana.

This photo was created as a tool to train the Afghan National Army in the identification and testing of illicit drugs.
